A Medicine Walk
A medicine walk is a wonderful opportunity to start developing a new and richer level of awareness with all things, of seeing with your strong eye (heart) and allowing all of your senses to be open to the guidance and wisdom of the vibrant energetic world around you. While ‘Forest Bathing’ allows us to take in the forest energy through our senses, we are not necessarily engaging or ‘seeing’ energetically. Though ‘Earthing’ is certainly grounding, we may not be connecting with all of Earth Mothers healing energy, harmonizing our natural rhythm and accelerating our healing.
To begin deepening your connection, start by taking your usual walk, or a walk as close to nature as you are able. At your usual pace and purpose. As you return, take some time to focus on your breathing, attuning to the rhythm around you. Open your strong eye and engage your senses.
Does the wind song sound stronger, the air smell of the many layers of summer, is the birdsong a message just for you? As you marvel at the texture of the moss under your fingers, do you taste the rain that is to come on the tip of your tongue? What do you see? A spider building a web against all odds in the breeze? A snail slowly creeping along the branch of a tree? A perfect rose at the height of bloom? As you engage and step into the moment, what do you see?
As you increase this practice you will discover inspiration, healing and guidance as you connect with Spirit and the Spirit of all things.
