FIRE CEREMONY – Prayer Arrows

The Rag Blog: Kate Braun : Summer Solstice Marks the Midpoint

Fire allows for rapid transformation

to let go of the old story and drama

to transform

to renew and to be reborn.

Through fire ceremony, you honour your lessons and old belief structures by placing them in the fire and turning them over to Spirit. By releasing these old patterns and beliefs into the fire, you heal deeply at the level of the soul without having to experience them at the literal and physical levels.

The fire itself will become your teacher and will let you know immediately if your intention is pure.

Start the Ceremony with a Fire, Cauldron or Candle…

Take a moment to focus on the flame…

Connect with that which you are honouring before releasing, the gifts you have received, or what you are envisioning into being.

Using your breath, blow this intention or prayer into the offering 3 times.

This “spirit arrow” can represent an issue or something that needs to be honored in order for you to let go of it.

The offering serves to focus one’s attention in active meditation.

The object can be decorated with string and flowers or feathers or left as is.

Or you can write what/who you are releasing on strips of paper and bind them with twine, ribbon or string and follow the same process.

The first offering honours the four directions – raising the arrow to each of the directions. After your honouring =

The intention of the second offering is to honour the upper worlds/heavens and earth – raising the arrow high above then touching Earth Mother with it.

For the third and last offering, connect the circle around the fire by honoring “all” those present. This may include Spirit Allies, the Spirits of the land and place or ancient energetic beings you may sense, but not see.

Place the arrow into fire, offering it to Spirit of Fire

to raise these intentions on the smoke to the Divine Spirit Creator

to transmute

to transform

to renew

and to be reborn.

“As the Sun spirals its longest Dance

Cleanse Us

As nature shows bounty and fertility

Bless Us

Let all things live with loving intent

And to fulfill their truest destiny” —
